Executive Summary
This Program addresses the economic and moral impacts of climate change on African communities (Article 3.2). By financing resilient infrastructure such as flood defenses, drought-resistant agriculture, and water conservation systems, the Fund protects member assets and ensures sustainable growth. Projects must demonstrate environmental stewardship and long-term community benefit over short-term extraction.
Program Objectives
- Protect 2 million individuals from climate-related disasters through resilient infrastructure.
- Finance 100+ water security projects (dams, purification, irrigation) in vulnerable regions.
- Promote sustainable land management practices to prevent soil degradation.
- Integrate climate risk assessment into all Fund-financed project evaluations.
- Support community-led adaptation strategies that preserve local ecosystems.

- Communities vulnerable to drought, flood, or environmental degradation.
